What is POPs Waste?
POPs stands for Persistent Organic Pollutants. These are chemicals found in certain household items (like sofas, armchairs, and upholstered furniture) that don’t break down naturally and can be harmful to the environment.
Because of UK law, POPs waste must be disposed of separately and safely. That means it can’t just go to landfill or general recycling — it has to go through a specialist treatment process.
That’s why POPs items are itemised separately on our price list. It ensures they are collected, transported, and disposed of legally and responsibly.
